Welcome to Border Park Organics
Due to the drought, 2019 has required some changes on our part. Below we answer the most frequently asked questions we’re asked at the moment.
In the past, each month we have opened meat orders to the residents of South Australia.
More recently, we also opened up our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) memberships. Members selected deliveries every 2 months, or every 4 months. Here are some of the benefits our 2018 members appreciated.
If you appreciate eating quality meat while supporting your local farmer, then our CSA program may be just what you’re looking for! If you’d like to join our 2020 CSA waiting list, we’d love to hear from you! You can email us directly or get in touch via the contact form. The drought has made it near impossible to viably feed and sell our animals.
In the best interest of our animals and precious soils, we have significantly reduced our livestock numbers over the past 6 months. We now only have our best breeder cows and ewes and some young, replacement heifers and hogget ewes.
This means we don’t have anything to sell for meat sales until the 2019 calves and lambs grow up.
Unfortunately, we can’t predict the coming season, but it is likely be spring 2019 or early summer 2020 before we have meat for sale again.
If you’re on our mailing list, you’ll be the first to be notified when orders open again, so thank you for sitting tight 😊
It is difficult to say with certainty, but if the season improves, we may look at opening memberships either late in 2019 or early 2020.
It’s our intention to move towards a fully-fledged CSA membership in the future, which will mean few, if any offers of meat to the public (ie. Non-CSA members). We appreciate the many benefits from our CSA as you do!
If you’d like to join our 2020 CSA waiting list, we’d love to hear from you! Please complete this quick response form. (This is merely an expression of interest, not a commitment at this stage.)
We unashamedly agree that once you’ve tried organic, pasture-fed meat, it’s hard to ‘go back’. And even though we’re currently unable to supply meat, we realise dinner still needs to be put on the table!
In the interim, if you want to find an alternative meat supplier, then please get in touch, and we’ll do our best to put you in touch with someone who may be able to help you.
We’re super keen to get some meat when orders open. Can we let you know what meat type or pack we’d like?
Thanks for asking – we love proactive customers! Consider joining our CSA program to have your order delivered on a regular basis. Add your name to our list here. (This is merely an expression of interest, not a commitment at this stage.)
